Steven D. (Big Wheeler) Fadroski, 59, died unexpectedly May 6, 2010.
He was born Oct. 26, 1950. He grew up in the U.P. of Michigan. He worked for Winger Concrete Products as a truck driver. His travels took him to see many sights. Steve enjoyed driving truck, hanging out with his coffee friends in the morn ings at Tulas Cafe and working with wood. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Fadroski; son, Mark (Jessica) Fadroski, two grandchildren; mother, Jeanette Fadroski; brothers, Tony (Casey)Fadroski and Roy (Annette) Fadroski; sisters, Cindy (Keith) Brannstrom, Yvonne (Fred) Locher, Patricia (Mike) Cass; mother-in-law, Marie O'Brien, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Fadroski; and son, Daniel Fadroski.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 14 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 15, all at the Bolger Funeral Home Woodruff Chapel. |
Maurice A. Long, 83, Menominee, died unexpectedly, May 7, 2010.
He was born June 3, 1926, in Menominee, to Arnold and Alvina (Peterson) Long. Maurice resided in Menominee all of his life and was a graduate of Menominee High School, Class of 1944. That same year he entered the U.S. Navy and served as a Flight Engineer on patrol bombers for the remainder of WWII. He worked at his father's business, Long Equipment Company and at Thompson Machine Company. He later worked for Scott Paper Company retiring after 30 years. On June 13, 1953, he married Marilyn J. Kushman of Marinette. They enjoyed traveling to many parts of the country taking frequent bus trips. He was an active member of North Shore Church, Menominee.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Mitchell, Daggett; two sisters, Doris Long, Denver, CO, and Dorothy (Bob) Kaetterhenry, Menominee; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Milli and Lester Knack, and Jerry Kirchner, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Dr. Marci J. Long; and a brother, Marvin Long.
A memorial service was held May 11 at North Shore Church, Menominee. The Rev. Tim Gunderson officiated. Interment was in Forest Home Mausoleum, Marinette. Memorial donations are suggested for North Shore Church or Lake Ellen Bible Camp. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home assisted the family. |
Charles Peter Porod, 89, Menominee, died May 2, 2010, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility, Powers.
Charles was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Menominee, to the late Carl and Augutha (Bartholemus) Porod. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Charles was an avid out doorsman.
He is survived by one brother, Clarence Porod, and a nephew, George (Marilyn) Porod, Menominee. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters. As per his wishes, private family services were held. Burial was in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, WI. The Cadieu Thielen Funeral Home assisted the family. |
Mary (Burke) Stroming, 90, died May 8, 2010, at the Luther Home.
She was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Chicago. Her family moved to the Tomahawk, WI, area when she was six years old. On June 30, 1937, she married Elroy Stroming. She worked at National Container Box Plant, U.S. Industries and as a waitress at several of Tomahawk's restaurants. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, camping, snowmobiling, square dancing and traveling. In 2008, they moved to Marinette to be closer to family.
She is survived by her husband; one brother, Frederick (Shirley) Haack; one son, Elroy (Judy) Stroming, Menominee, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward Burke and Emma (Delile) Burke Haack; three sisters, Viola Haack, Ruth (Raymond) Stroming, and Bertha (Kenneth) Van Cleve; and one brother, Edward (Kay) Burke.
Visitation and funeral service were held May 11 at Faith Lutheran Church, Marinette. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Tomahawk. The family is establishing a memorial in Mary's memory at Faith Lutheran Preschool. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home assisted the family. |
