Joyce Buelteman, 85, died May 2, 2010, at home.
She was born May 19, 1924, in Menominee, to the late Leo and Rose (Lacourciere) LaCombe. Joyce graduated from Menominee High School in 1942. On Nov. 24, 1945, she married Louis Buelteman at St. Anne's Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knit ting, beading Christmas or naments, and sold them at local craft shows. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens, grubbing, dancing, especially the polka and baking. She loved to camp, especially in Grand Marias. Joyce was a member of Resurrection Parish and St. Anne's Sodality. She is survived by her husband; six sons, Rodney (Vicki), Scottsdale, AZ, Tom (Jenny), Marinette, Michael, Menominee, Steven (Bridget), Memphis, TN, Jeffrey, Menominee, and Tim, Oconto Falls; three daughters, Cheryl (Hugh) Guy, Crivitz, Pam (Mike) Schacht, Felch, and Penny Schmidt, Menominee, 31 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and special friend, Eddy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Dawn; son-in-law, Ronald; grand daughter, Brittney; two brothers, Alfred and Robert and; a sister, Eunice Olson.
Friends may call May 6 at Resurrection Parish from 9:30 a.m. until time of ser vice. A Sodality Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Leonard J. Gignac, 65, Town of Peshtigo, died April 28, 2010, at his home.
He was born May 20, 1944, the son of the late William and Lucille (Shampo) Gignac. Leonard served in the United States Air Force. On Jan. 30, 1965, he married Jane Strojny in Menominee. He was a former member of the Peshtigo Volunteer Fire Department, enjoyed work ing with wood, building cabinets and loved his horses. He is survived by his wife, Jane; a daughter, Rita (Scott) Schreiber, South Milwaukee; two sons, Barton Gignac, Kenosha, and Dale (Wendy) Gignac, Peshtigo; a brother, Richard (Judy) Gignac, Menominee, and four grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher S. Gignac.

James F. (Jim) Hayes, 55, 1505 17th Ave., Menominee, died May 1, 2010, at his home after a battle with cancer.
He was born May 12, 1954, to the late Raymond and Beatrice Hayes. Jim worked for Keller Cement until the time of his illness. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; three daughters, Jenny Hayes (Chris Johnson), Ann (David) Henry and Carla (Dan) Demeuse, four grandchil dren; one step-daughter, Brenda (Jeff) Bauer; a step-grandson; two sisters, Helen Homa (Pete Johnson) and Beatrice Jacobson, a niece and nephews. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Robert.
Friends called at Holy Spirit Church, Menominee, May 4, where Funeral Mass was offered by Father Ron Skufca. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home assisted the family. |
William Edward Larschied, Sr., 59, 1405 30th Ave., Menominee, died April 30, 2010, at Bellin Health Hospital Center, Green Bay.
Bill was born June 28, 1950, to the late Fred and Ruth (Timm) Larschied. Bill enjoyed working on cars and deer hunting.
He is survived by two sons, Bill (Michelle) Larschied, Jr., Green Bay, and Scott Larschied, Marinette; his adopted son, Bradley Port, Marinette, seven sisters and brothers, Rose (Ken) Johnston, Nancy (John) Palencia, Alice (Ray) Wolske, Pearl Samsa, Phillis (John) MaCash, Fred (Sandy) Larschied, John Larschied and Sharon (special friend Joe Michalko) Larschied, his special friend, Ed Ries. He was preceded in death by parents Fred and Ruth Larschied.
Family and friends may call May 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson Kell Funeral Home, Menominee. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Ron Helgerson officiating. |
Gladys Ruth Lohse, 89, Menominee, died April 30, 2010, at BAMC.
She was born March 15, 1921, in Walsh, WI, to the late Alexander and Anna (LaRock) Furst. On June 29, 1946, she married Arthur Lohse. He preceded her in death March 3, 1991. Gladys was an acive member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. She enjoyed dancing, sewing and cooking and spending time with all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by four daughters, Carol (Al) Lindner, Sharon Powell, and Linda (Chuck) Powell, all of Menominee, and Gloria (Jim Hrabik), Oconto; former son-in-law, Rick Powell, 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jesse Womble, Niles, MI, and Roseann Tews, Milwaukee; two brothers, Kenneth (Marilyn) Furst, Marinette, and Gordon (Elaine) Furst, Harmony; and sister-in-law, Ann Furst, Peshtigo. She was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.
Visitation was held May 3 at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson. Funeral services were held May 4 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Wallace. Reverend Jon Schmidt officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee. |
James Samuel Nemetz, 92, Menominee, died April 30, 2010, at the Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette.
Jim was born May 2, 1917, in Menominee, to the late Matthew and Marie (Boursek) Nemetz. He owned and operated the 41 Market in Birch Creek for many years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Menominee. Jim enjoyed hunting and being around people.
He is survived by three daughters, Lucy (Daniel) Schaefer, Shell Knob, MO, Louise (Jack) Martin, Wallace, and Margaret (Alex) Loudon, Bothell, WA; two sons, Robert Nemetz and Thomas (Marilyn) Nemetz, both of Menominee, eight grand children, seven great-grand children; two sisters, Anne Fischer, Madison, and Marian Plautz, Shawano. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Nemetz; a granddaughter, Lisa Nemetz; one sister, Mrs. Frank Kmechek; and one brother, John Nemetz.
A private family graveside service was held at the Birch Creek Cemetery. Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home assisted the family. |
Lucille (Lucy) M. Poupore, 86, Nadeau, died May 2, 2010, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility, Powers.
She was born Sept. 24, 1923, to the late Sylvio and Agnes (King) Poupore in Nadeau. Her mother died when she was a young girl and was then raised by her father and step-mother, Florence (McGuire) Poupore. She enjoyed crafts. Lucy has also participated in the Special Olympics when she was younger and attended the Hermansville Men-O-Mee activities center for many years. She loved flowers.
She is survived by one brother, Clarence (Vera) Poupore; two sisters, Rose Ann (Harold) Charboneau and Mary Ann Wentland; one step-sister, Ethel Kraus; two step-sisters-in-law, Marcella McGuire and Adeline McGuire; special great-aunt and uncle, Clayton (Ellen) Tanquay, special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Millie Ekberg; one brother-in-law, Orlin Ekberg; three step brothers, Emery, Maynard and Donald McGuire; one step-sister-in-law, Bette McGuire, and one step-brother-in-law, Edward Kraus. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. CST, May 5, at St. Bruno's Parish, Nadeau. A Mass of Christian Burial at 5 p.m. with Fr. Michael Vichich of ficiating. Burial will take place in the Nadeau Township Cemetery. Barbara Jean (Sundquist) Smith, 39, died April 21, 2010, from the effects of a six-year battle with pul monary hypertension.
Barb was a graduate of Bark River-Harris High School and NMU. She was an accountant with the Menomonee Falls, WI, Schools. She was a volun teer in the community and her church. She was the wife of Erik, the mom of Caleb, Colton, and Caden; daughter of Gerald (Bobbi) Sundquist, Menominee and Judy Sundquist, Gladstone; daughter-in-law of Charlene and Jeffrey Smith, East Lansing; sister of Brent Sundquist and Bobbi (Michael) Flynn; sister-in-law of Kyle (Shannon) Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated April 26 at Good Shephard Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls. |
Word has been received of the death of Norma Twark Szapa, who died April 15, 2010, in Tucson, AZ. She was the wife of Gary Szapa. They celebrated 40 years of marriage April 4. Memorial service will be held in Stephenson at a later date. |
