Dorothy L. Miller, 91, Marinette, died June 16, 2010, at Marla Vista Manor, Green Bay.

She was born Oct. 15, 1918, to the late William and Ella (Marineau) Richards in Menominee.
She moved to Marinette as a child and graduated from Marinette High School. She had worked at Ansul and The Motor Company. She married Joseph Kieff June 18, 1938, at St. Joseph's Church, Marinette. He preceded her in death April 11, 1970. She married Thomas Miller Aug. 21, 1971. He preceded her in death Dec. 13, 2002. She enjoyed trav eling and spending winters in Florida.

She is survived by four daughters, Karlene (Henry) Keller, Marinette, Michaelyn Kieff, Green Bay, Kathleen (Michael Schahczinski) Pier, Menominee, and Lorri (Jeff England) Kieff, Green Bay; a daughter-in-law, Carol Kieff, Green Bay; a brother, Edward (Dorothy) Richards, Beecher, WI; a sister, Eleanor Sauve, Appleton, many grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard; a granddaughter, Tara; and two sisters, Maude Miller and Jean Vedra.

A gathering time was held June 17 at Thielen Funeral Home.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee.

Anne Genevieve LaValley, 87, Marinette, died June 18, 2010, at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette.

She was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Channing, MI, to William and Maureen Tobin.
She graduated from Channing High School, and worked in the office of her father's lumber company for some years in Channing. She married Ernie LaValley Jan. 20, 1945. Anne was a member of Holy Family Parish.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Dennis LaValley, Alvin, TX, Mark (Mary) LaValley, Menominee, Mike (Julie) LaValley, Kansas City, and Todd (Sandy) LaValley, Eau Claire; daughter, Maureen (Paul) Nieratko, Lansing, 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and brother, Doc Tobin, Iron Mountain.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and  two sisters.

Private family services were held June 20.

Jeanette M. Paulson, 88, Wallace, died June 14, 2010, following a short stay at Roubal Care and Rehab, Stephenson.

Jeanette Marie Roubal was born Oct. 10, 1921, to the late Fred and Stella (Eland) Roubal, Wallace. She married Clarence Anton Paulson June 1, 1946. He preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1986. She worked in the housekeeping department at Menominee County Lloyd Hospital for 18 years. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, camp ing and listening to old time gospel music.
In her younger years the Roubal sisters were taught at a young age to be musically inclined by their father Fred, and formed a trio group called The Roubal Sisters Orchestra, playing down the road from their dairy farm at The Roubal's Dance Hall and other places back in the 1930s and early 1940s.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen (John) Farmer, two sons, William and Richard, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace (Jerry) Theuerkauf; and one brother, Leonard Roubal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one daughter, Susan; two sons, James and Ronald; one sister, Arlene Koutnik; and a brother, Fredrick.

Private family services were held. Burial was in Mellen Township Cemetery.

Paul Semrau PDF Print E-mail
Paul H. Semrau, 96, formerly of Menominee, died June 14, 2010, at Rennes Health Center-East in Peshtigo.

He was born April 1, 1914, in the Town of Pound to Herman and Veronica (Clausen) Semrau.
Paul spent his early years in the Pound area working on the family farm and other homesteads. On Sept. 29, 1938, he married Arlene P. Gross. During World War II, they moved to Sturgeon Bay, where they both worked in the shipyard. After the war, they pur chased a farm in rural Marinette. For many years, Paul also worked at Marathon Corp., later Menominee Paper Co., retiring in 1976 as a foreman.
Paul and Arlene enjoyed camping and, for 31 years, wintered in Texas while spending summers locally. Arlene preceded him in death Nov. 2, 2004. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish.

Paul is survived by his children, Gene (Judy) Semrau, Menominee, David (Carol) Semrau, Marinette, Paula (Thomas) Reichl, Appleton, WI. and Cheryl (Joseph) Salfai, Menominee; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Tony Semrau, Marinette; one sister, Inez Hoida, Appleton and a special friend, Rose Ann.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Peter; five brothers and one sister.

Friends called at Holy Redeemer Church, Birch Creek. A Funeral Mass was offered June 18 in the church with Father Joseph Vandannoor officiating.
Burial was in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Peshtigo.

Robert Eugene Strahl, infant son of Tamera and  Kaleb Strahl, Grayling, MI, failed to survive  at birth June 21, 2010.

Maternal grandparents are Don and Janet Strahl, Carney.
Paternal grandparents are Tom and Laurie Chaney, Carney.

Private family services will be held June 25.
Burial will be in Carney Evangelical Free Church Cemetery.

Dorothy J. Sundquist, 88, Menominee, died June 18, 2010, at Bay Shore Pines.

She was born Oct. 11, 1921, in Menominee to the late Joseph and Katherine (Spitzer) Galineau. Dorothy graduated from Menominee High School in 1939. On Sept. 12, 1942, she married Ronald Sundquist in Menominee. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 2003. She worked for Ansul for over 20 years. She was a member of Resurrection Parish and loved to volunteer there. Additionally she was a fos ter grandparent for CCD and served on the committees for counting collection and assisting with funeral lunches. She was also a member of the Legion of Mary and Ansul Retirees, and loved to bake.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Tom) Petersen, Minocqua and Diana Wood, Escanaba; four granddaughters, seven great-grandchildren; a brother Calvin Galineau, Menominee.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Jr.; and a sister, Elizabeth.

Private family services were held at Resurrection Parish.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee.
Thielen Funeral Home assisted the family.

Rosemary I. Sustrick, 87, Marinette, died, June 19, 2010, at her home at the Renaissance, Marinette.

Rosemary Ivelyn Meuleman, daughter of the late William and Nellie (Radditz) Meuleman was born Aug. 17, 1922, in Menominee.
After graduation from Menominee High School, she entered Michigan State University where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. She then moved to Washington D.C. where she was employed by the National Security Agency (NSA) as a cryptographer. She married Albert L. Sustrick in Denver, CO, May 15, 1954.
After 30 years in Denver, Rosemary and Albert returned to Menominee to enjoy their retirement years.

She is survived by her husband.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Dr. William Louis Meuleman.

Friends may call at Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette, June 24 from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. with Deacon Jerome Thetreau officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee.
