Sam Dragic, 93, Porterfield, died April 6, 2010, at the Luther Home.
He was born April 7, 1917, in Carbondale, to the late Lie (Louis) and Marie (Mary) (Du Bois) Dragici. Sam worked on the family farm east of Palestine for many years. He had also logged for himself and others, hauled produce and cattle to and from Chicago for Walter Wangerin and then worked for Ansul Inc. for over 10 years until retiring. He married Marie Rittinger Jan. 14, 1946, in Escanaba. She preceded him in death Sept. 14, 1983. He married Ruth Larson-Suennen June 7, 1986, in Wagner. He was a member of SS. Joseph and Edward Parish. Sam loved to spend time with his family, enjoyed building his home on the lakeshore, hunting and fish ing. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Karen Sandahl, Milwaukee; son, Lee Dragic, Cedar River; step-son, Alois (Loretta) Zullner, Milwaukee, eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George; five sisters, Florence, Martha, Marie, Anna and Eva; son-in-law, Peter Sandahl; and great-granddaughter, Amanda.
Friends may call at the Thielen Funeral Home, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Sr. Helen Plum and Deacon Chuck Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in the Cedarville Township Cemetery. |
Mae M. Guth, 98, died, March 17, 2010.
She was the wife of the late Raymond Guth.
She is survived by Gary (Diann) Guth and Barbara (Frank) Passante, eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial were held in the Milwaukee area. Graveside services were held April 20 at Stephenson Township Cemetery. Father Corey Litzner officiated. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson, assisted the family. |
Karen Ann Hytinen, 66, Stephenson, died April 18, 2010, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.
Karen Bahrman was born Dec. 13, 1943, in Skandia, MI, to the late Roger and Ann (Krieger) Bahrman. On Aug. 14, 1965, she married Gerald Hytinen at Trenary Lutheran Church in Trenary. He preceded her in death March 8, 2006. Karen enjoyed camping and going to the casino, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her new grandson Cade. Karen will live on through the eyes of the two individuals who received her gift of organ donation.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diana (Gabe) Kester, Portage, MI, and Danelle (Dana) Anderson, Medina, OH, one grandson; a sister-in-law, Gail (Gary) Hall, Trenary, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Bahrman; and two sisters, Joan Viau and Carol Christensen.
Family and friends may call April 23 at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson, after 2 p.m. CST, until time of Funeral Service at 6 p.m. CST. Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Karen's name. |
Janet L. Lucas, 79, Wallace, formerly of Iron Mountain, died April 15, 2010, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay.
She was born Aug. 12, 1930, in Aurora, daughter of the late John and Gerda (Roos) Weber. She graduated from Kingsford High School. She married Harry Lucas at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aurora in 1953. She worked at the Commercial Bank in Iron Mountain first as a teller then as a bookkeeper. She then went to work with her husband as the bookkeeper, and much more, at the family business, H. Lucas Powerline Construction Company, then for Lucas Cycle City, next was Briar Mountain Ski Resort, and finally the Little Bear Golf Course. While moving around through the years, she was a member at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Foster City, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Menominee, and St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kingsford. She loved life, Jesus and her family. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, fishing, painting, crafts and golf. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Lucas, Wallace; children, Debra (Rodney) Carlson, Foster City, Dianne Lucas and David Lucas, both of Iron Mountain, Doreen (Brian) Miller, Fairview, TX, and Denise (Tom) Davidson, formally of Menominee, 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Brown, KY, and Margaret (Ronald) Olson, Aurora; sisters-in-law, Delores (Dee) Weber, Betty Weber and Gerri Weber, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by brothers, George, Edward, and Robert Weber.
The funeral Mass was held April 21 at the St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Kingsford. Fr. Michael Woempner offered the Mass of Christian Burial. A memorial will be established in her memory. Nash Funeral Home, Iron Mountain assisted the family with arrangements. |
Robert Richard Plutchak, 86, Stephenson, died April 15, 2010, at Roubal care and Rehab Center.
He was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Sand Rock, WI, to the late Robert F. and Jessie (Deacon) Plutchak. He served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II and was honorably discharged Nov. 17, 1945. Robert worked as an automotive mechanic and also as a pipe fitter at Marinette Marine. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards and trips to the casino. He is survived by two daughters, Lori (Matthew) Santy, West Springfield, MA, and Nora Barry, Las Vegas, NV; two sons, Robert, Sierra Vista, AZ, and Matthew (Victoria), Bowdoinham, ME; one brother, Norman (Judith), Menominee, 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by four sisters.
Memorial Service was held April 19, at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, Stephenson. Reverend Jim Mathews officiated. Burial was in Bethesda Cemetery. |
LeRoy R. Welch, 67, W3797 Elm Ave., Spalding, died April 11, 2010, at Dickinson Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain. He was born May 22, 1942, in Monroe County, WI, the son of Thomas and Sophia (Rehberg) Welch. He entered the Marine Corps immediately following high school graduation from Tomah, WI, in 1961. He served during Vietnam and was honored with the Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged May 24, 1965. On May 27, 1966, he married Monica Page in Chicago. He worked and lived many places. LeRoy retired as an asphalt paver operator from Bacco Construction Company in Iron Mountain in 1999. He enjoyed woodworking, woodcrafts, golf, hunting, being in the woods and he loved his camp. LeRoy was a member of the American Legion and the Operating Engineers Union Local 324. He was of Lutheran faith.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Paris, Fort Worth, TX, a granddaughter; brother, Norman, Saukville, WI; four sisters, Alice Kersten, Tomah, Helen Marzo, Sullivan, Patricia (Lawrence) Jessen, Camp Douglas, WI, and Shirley (Harold) Swan, Milwaukee; five sisters-in-law, Doris Welch, Tomah, Betty Welch, Butler, WI, Marian (Leonard) VanDrese, Soo Hill, Martha (Lawrence) Savord, Hermansville, and Melanie (Larry) Franklin, Dayton, OH; four brothers-in-law, Joseph Ripple, Milwaukee, Robert Page, Gladstone, Ervin (Marie) Page, Brampton, and Kenneth (Char) Page, Rhinelander, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Page; four brothers, Howard, Rolland, Eugene and John; and two sisters, Vivian Lemke and Myrtle Ripple; sister-in-law, Geraldine Welch; three brothers-in-law, Lawrence Lemke, Frank Marzo and Ralph Kersten; three nephews and one niece. No public services were held. The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisted the family. |
